School Social Worker to Central Student Health

The municipal schools in Österåker work to ensure that every student succeeds optimally based on their circumstances. To operate in this spirit, we work in a central student health organization within the municipality. This is to increase equity and ensure the quality of student health in all schools. A central coordination clarifies the mission and enables support and development for the various professions in the student health teams in the schools.

In the student health teams, school social workers, school psychologists, school nurses, special teachers, and special educators work all under the direction of the principal in close collaboration with the school chief and the management of central student health.

Your new job

The social workers collaborate with the principal at the school but have the deputy head of student health as their immediate supervisor. Procedures, methods, and working practices are centrally organized in collaboration with all relevant professional groups, and the social worker group maintains close contact with each other and other staff within student health.

Student health is the part of the school's organization responsible for ensuring that students have the best possible teaching situation. Operations should be based on scientific grounds and/or proven experience and should primarily conduct health-promoting and preventive work.

As a social worker, your mission is to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning based on your expertise. The work is carried out in collaboration with the management of central student health, school management, and other student health staff. The work also involves collaboration with students, guardians, school staff, as well as organizations and authorities outside the school.

The position will be distributed across the primary schools in Österåker municipality.

Your profile

We are looking for a social worker with high competence and great commitment to our students' well-being, who possesses the following skills and experiences:

• Relevant social work education
• Willingness to work passionately to help our students achieve their educational goals.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of and preferably experience in developing educational activities.

We also hope that you are proactive, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
